Meet the Team

  • Amanda Drake

    PRESIDENT and FOUNDER

Amanda is a lifelong advocate for people with disabilities, a special education teacher, and, most importantly, the parent of a child with a disability. These various roles have allowed her to see that many communities are not accessible to people with disabilities and, through her work with AIM, she hopes to correct that.

  • Melissa Whitley

    VICE PRESIDENT

Melissa has a daughter with extra needs which opened her eyes to a world of inaccessibility and a lack of accommodations that many other people don’t see or understand. She feels this knowing and experience has made her a more understanding and empathetic mom, wife, educator, and person.

  • Nick Drake

    TREASURER and FOUNDER

Nick is an industrial mechanic and also the parent of a child with a disability. These two experiences combine as he finds himself constantly improving, modifying, and building things for my home and community to allow my son to have more access. Seeing the world through this lens has shown him how people with disabilities face many barriers to accessing their communities. He is hopeful AIM will be the path to eliminating those barriers.

  • Nicole Huasta

    SECRETARY

Nicole obtained her undergraduate degree in human development and is currently in school to become a Social Worker. Her focus has been advocacy for those who have endured trauma as well as pursuing inclusion advocacy.

  • Suzanne Hurtado

    BOARD MEMBER

Suzanne is an Elementary Special Education teacher, who has a passion for children and the Adirondacks. Working with AIM allows her to connect both of these passions. She believes there should be equal access to for everyone.
