Adirondack Inclusion Movement

  • Did you know that 1 out of every 8 students at Schroon Lake Central Schoool has a disability?

These disabilities range from neurological disorders to physical disabilities.

Although the playground is our foundational project, AIM has other goals for our community, as well.

In the future we see our organization supporting local businesses to create accessible entries and accessible workspaces so that people with disabilities can work, shop, and dine in our community.

We also hope to create more accessible play spaces and parks as well as establish a scholarship fund for people with disabilities.

the PLANS for the

Inclusive Playground

A truly inclusive playground doesn't have areas off to the side for children with disabilities, or designated spaces for special needs playground equipment. Inclusive means everyone is a part of play with peers of all abilities.
